3 Fun Puppy Popsicle Recipes

puppy popsicle editedSummer’s not over yet and there’s still plenty of warm weather to be enjoyed! To help keep your dog cool and give him an extra-special treat, try one of these canine-friendly popsicle recipes:

Strawberry Kiwi:

8 oz. strawberries
1 1/2 cups plain yogurt
3 kiwis

Blend all ingredients in a blender. Pour into disposable cups or ice cube trays and freeze.

Peanut Butter Banana:

1 banana
½ cup peanut butter
¼ cup wheat germ

Mash the banana and peanut butter together using a fork. Stir in the wheat germ and transfer mixture to disposable cups or ice cube trays. Place popsicles in the freezer until solid.

Chicken:

1 cup low-sodium chicken stock
½ cup water
1 ½ ounces chicken meat, finely chopped

Stir all ingredients together and pour into disposable cups or ice cube trays. Freeze before serving.

For some added fun, use your dog’s favorite rawhide sticks as popsicle sticks. Freeze the mixture of your choice for about 30 minutes and then cover each cup with a piece of foil with a small hole in it. Insert the rawhide stick through the foil and into the mixture. Let the mixture freeze completely before serving the popsicles to your pup.
