Advanced Animal Nutrition announced updates today to the lot numbers affected by its recall of dry Dog Power Dog Food. Affected foods were manufactured between the dates of January 4, 2011 and November 18, 2011. The company voluntarily recalled the following lot numbers based on aflatoxin levels that were detected above the acceptable limit.
* DOG POWER ADULT MAINTENANCE FORMULA 21-12 Dog Food (50 pound bags)
* DOG POWER HUNTERS FORMULA 27-14 Dog Food (50 pound bags)
* DOG POWER HI-PRO PERFORMANCE FORMULA 26-18 Dog Food (50 pound bags)
As the company previously reported in its December 13, 2011 press release, the recall applies to the above foods with the following lot numbers: K0004 through K1322. Updated lot numbers are 4K1004 through 4K1322.
Affected products were distributed in Arkansas, Missouri and Louisiana. Advanced Animal Nutrition has already instructed retailers to remove affected foods from their shelves. This recall has been implemented as a precautionary measure, as no adverse health effects relating to these products have been reported at this time.
