Beware of Holiday Hazards for Pets!

Christmas is just a couple weeks away, and many other holidays are right around the corner! For those of you who have already dug into the holiday festivities, you may need to go back and assess your decorations to make sure they are pet-proof! To make sure the holiday is a safe one for your four-legged family members, VetDepot has compiled a list of holiday hazards and put them in an easy-to-reference infographic.

This time of year is known for an abundance of food (perhaps overabundance is more fitting), however, owners should be aware that some foods can be extremely dangerous  for pets. You may feel guilty denying your pet leftovers at the table, but you’ll feel even more guilty if you end up at the vet office for sharing with them! These harmful foods include chocolate, macadamia nuts, grapes and more. From electrocution to intestinal blockages, holiday lights and decorations pose a serious risk to pets as well – especially toxic holiday plants. For a complete list of holiday dangers, refer to our Holiday Hazards Infographic below.

Happy holidays to you and your pets!
