Diamond Dry Dog Food Now Linked to Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Infection

Diamond Pet FoodThere have been 14 confirmed cases of human Salmonella Infantis infection linked to the recall of multiple brands of dry dog food manufactured by Diamond Pet Foods. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is collaborating with the Food and Drug Administration to investigate the outbreak.

A total of 14 individuals from 9 different states (Alabama, Connecticut, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia) have been infected with Salmonella Infantis. Of those cases, there have been 5 hospitalizations and no reported deaths.
