Dog Treat Recipe: Honey Ham Have-to-Haves

dogs begging- honey ham treat recipe blogIf your family had ham for Thanksgiving and decided to freeze the leftovers, this recipe is the perfect opportunity to use some of that extra food! These dog treats are a tasty balance between sweet and savory. Your pup will surely be thankful for putting those leftovers to good use.

Ingredients:

1 ¾ cups cooked ham, shredded
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup wheat germ
¼ cup honey
½ teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until well incorporated.
  3. Roll out dough on a floured work surface to a ¼ inch thickness. Use your favorite cookie cutters to make shapes with the dough and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Let treats cool completely before feeding them to your canine companion!
