When Chuck and Elicia James lost their beloved dog during Hurricane Sandy, they were devastated. They searched for months and months for Reckless, a pit bull terrier mix, but had no luck. Finally, a year and a half later, they decided to fill the hole in their hearts by adopting a new canine companion.
The couple visited the Monmouth County SPCA on May 1 and met with an adoption counselor. They were shocked when the first dog they were introduced to was none other than their own, Reckless. He was a little heavier than they remembered, but between his reaction upon seeing them and a recognizable scar on his head, Chuck and Elicia knew they had found their dog.
It’s no exaggeration to say this was a happy ending for Reckless and his family. The three smiles in the photo say it all!
