How to Help People and Pets Affected by Colorado Flooding

67966 blogFlooding in Colorado has caused at least eight fatalities and left thousands of people stranded in areas isolated by flood-ravaged roads. Seventeen Colorado counties have been declared part of the flood zone. Thousands of people have been evacuated to shelters, and many more are still missing. As with all natural disasters, Colorado pets have been affected too. Local shelters have seen an influx of animals displaced by the flooding.

  • The American Red Cross is helping people affected in Colorado by providing shelter, food, and supplies. Donations can be made by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.

The Boulder Valley Humane Society is caring for more than 60 pets from displaced residents. Donations can be made on their website, please contact the shelter for more information.

The Humane Society of Weld County is currently caring for around 300 animals. Please contact them for more information about their donation needs.
